Jonathan Scurlock of Smithville died Monday at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

Jonathan Scurlock, 32, of Smithville died Monday at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital.
He was an assistant chief of the Short Mountain Fire Department and Rescue Squad for Cannon County. He also worked for Middle Tennessee Natural Gas in Woodbury.
He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Debbie Scurlock of Smithville; sister and sister-in-law, Crystal Scurlock and Dana Holland of McMinnville; grandmother, Ruth Scurlock of Smithville; special cousin Claire Caldwell; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and firefighter and rescue squad family.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. In addition to flowers, make donations in memory of Jonathan to Short Mountain Fire Department of Cannon County.
Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
