Due to COVID restrictions at the time of her passing, a service was not performed. The family has planned an informal celebration of life and remembrance gathering which will take place Thursday, March 24, at First United Methodist Church Outreach Building, 200 West Main St., McMinnville. Family will be receiving guests at 1 p.m. with speakers beginning at 2 pm. All friends welcomed.

Johnnie Ruth Butler Davis, 93, a McMinnville resident and Pulaski native, was born May 16, 1926 and passed away April 19, 2020 at her residence following a brief illness.

She was a homemaker, a member of Central Church of Christ, and the daughter of the late William Carlos and Georgia Eva White Butler Sr.

She was married Feb. 3, 1952 to William Morris “Bill” Davis, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by sister Nancy Elaine Thomas, brothers Thomas Hunt Butler and William Carlos Butler Jr., brother-in-law Bob Thomas and sister-in-law Shirley Butler.

Mrs. Davis is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Greg Rush of McMinnville, two grandchildren, William Davis Rush of Santa Cruz, Calif., Melanie Grace Rush of Melbourne, Australia, sister-in-law Madline Butler of Nashville, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.
