Johnnie Louise Jackson, 83, of Rock Island passed from this life Tuesday, March 27, at her home.

She was born Sunday, Dec. 9, 1934 in McMinnville. She was the daughter of the late John Fisher and Sarah Greene Fisher.

Johnnie is survived by her son Rodger Jackson and Bridget, four sisters Helen Hale, Verda Poss, Linda Simmons, and Bertha Pack, six grandchildren Brandon Beard, Briana Jackson, Lytle Jackson, Niko Wood, Anthony Craig, and Darian Craig, two great-grandchildren Henlee Jackson and Bentley Wood, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband Marvin L. Jackson, son Ronald Jackson, two brothers, a sister and a few nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with pastor Rick Lyles and Danny Hale officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, and again Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
