John Mark Upchurch, 44, a McMinnville resident and Arlington, Texas native, was born Jan. 15, 1977 and died Oct. 17 at Ascension St. Thomas West in Nashville following a short illness.

He was a teacher at Warren County High School, and the owner of Highland Rim Crossfit. 

Mr. Upchurch is survived by child, G Upchurch of Virginia, mother Pat Harrah of Alabama, father and stepmother Charles and Lanette Upchurch of Texas, eight siblings Cliff Upchurch, Randy Upchurch, Brian Upchurch, Mark French, all of Texas, Sheila Upchurch of Alaska, Carla Upchurch, Tammy Truelove, and Kim and Donald Springer, all of Texas, and nephews Justin and Jeremy Springer. Several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive.

John’s last WOD service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Highland Rim Crossfit with Adam Rush and Ryle Chastain officiating. A workout in his honor will held at a later date.
