McMinnville resident and Warren County native John Douglas Morrison, 91, was born April 26, 1925 and died Feb. 1 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following a two-week illness. A retired United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korea and a member of Griffin Church of Christ in Griffin, Ga., he was the son of the late Joseph Sutton and Thelma Annis Morrison. He is survived by longtime loving companion, Betty McKenzie of Fayetteville, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Nell Morrison of McMinnville; sister, Martha Morrison of Morrison; stepdaughter, Debra Marks of Georgia; best friend and special nephew, Carl S. “Buddy” Morrison Jr. and wife Pam of McMinnville; nephew, Charles Morrison and wife LeAnn of Morrison; three great-nephews, one great-niece, four great-great-nephews and two great-great-nieces; and best friend, Duck Ingram.
