Mr. John Dale Anderson, 71, of McMinnville passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, at theAlive Hospice in Murfreesboro.
He was born in Bon-Air, Tenn., on March 26, 1949 to John Anderson and Louise Hodge Anderson, who preceded him in death along with his grandparents, Jim and Maggie Hodge, John Milton Anderson and Martha Austin Anderson of White County, son John Brian Anderson, brother Denny Carol Prater, sister Andrea Prater, and sister-in-law Shirley Wanamaker, father-in-law Vernon Fults, and mother-in-law Dorothy Jean Fults.
He lived in McMinnville with his wife and children for the last 40 plus years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War in 1967-1969 with the 1st Aviation Brigade 7th of the 17th Air Calv. Recon. He was a member of Covenant Fellowship Church. He liked hunting, fishing, playing pool and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Fults Anderson, daughter Sandy Jennings, son Travis (Beth) Anderson, grandchildren Lexie Wood, Hayden Jennings, Kane Wright, Kade and Keera Anderson, great-grandson Atticus Robinson, sisters Connie (Albert) Marsh, Sharon Wilkey, sister-in-law Norma Fults (Larry Myers), and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Layne Funeral Home chapel with minister Dean Northcutt officiating with burial following at Fults Cemetery with military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.laynefuneralhome.com.
