John C. Van Hooser Jr., 70, died Friday, Nov. 22. He was born in Short Mountain and moved to Brevard County, Fla., in 1966.He retired as an electrical engineer after 37 years with NASA. He was a member of North Courtenay Church of Christ.He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Teresa Van Hooser; son Patrick Van Hooser (Rebecca) of Lusby, Maryland; grandsons John Austin Van Hooser and William Van Hooser.Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. David Tomley officiating.
