Mrs. Joeneal Green Colwell, 80, of Rock Island passed away Tuesday at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Colwell was a retired seamstress with Form Fit Rogers and a member of New Union The Baptist Church for 48 years. She was preceded in death by husband Billy Colwell and parents William Bertram and Elsie Maureen Jones Green.

Visitation with the Colwell family was Wednesday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and Thursday at New Union The Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Bro. Keith Sims and Bro. Darrell Cantrell officiated and burial followed at New Union Cemetery with Bro. Garry McBride speaking. 

Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Joshua) Parris, one son, Henry Lee (Kathy) Colwell, three grandchildren, Heather Michelle Colwell, Patrick Lee Cowell and Carl Andrew Parris, all of Rock Island, sister-in-law Patty (Jerry) Cantrell and brother-in-law Eddie Colwell, all of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Pallbearers are Jake & Will Mayes, Carl Parris, Patrick Colwell, Kevin & Randy Jones and C.J. & James Tramel. The family has asked donations please be made to Dibrell Memorial Museum to help with a new roof.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home of Smithville is in charge of arrangements.
