McMinnville resident and Warren County native Joe McCormick, 62, was born July 7, 1957 and died July 7 at his residence following an extended illness.

A maintenance worker with the Warren County School System and a member of First Assembly of God, he was the son of the late William Corbin and Nellie Lee Lewis McCormick. He was married to Treva Lee Muncey McCormick, who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by stepdaughter Kimberly Lee Payne, and sister Beverly “Buzzy” McCormick Eubanks.

He is survived by son Joshua Leon O’Brien Payne of McMinnville, stepson Jason O’Brien Payne of McMinnville, three grandchildren Travis O’Brien Payne, Kimberly Eileen Payne and Samantha Renee Payne, all of McMinnville, three sisters and brothers-in-law Mariecha and Richard McCormick, Linda Bates and Brenda and Carl McGinness, all of McMinnville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Nathern Bates, David and Barbara Bates, Ricky and Louise McCormick, and Bobby McCormick, all of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at High’s Chapel with Sammy Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
