Morrison resident (Vervilla community) and Warren County native Jimmy Turner, 72, died unexpectedly Aug. 10.He was the son of the late Oscar Earl and Willie Everett Hurtt Turner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Braxton; brother Eugene Turner; brother-in-law, Earl Groves and aunts, Annie Hurtt and Elizabeth Hunt. Mr. Turner was a longtime member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, Trail Riding and Pleasure Horse Communities of Tennessee.He is survived by four brothers and sisters-in-law, Isaac and Beatrice Turner, Billy and Josephine Turner, Frank and Cindy Turner and Marion and Connie Turner, all of Morrison; sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Jerry Pierce of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Clata Groves of Rock Island; aunt, Jessie Hodapp of Norfolk, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.A graveside service and interment was held Thursday at Bascom Cemetery with Roger Comstock officiating.
