Jimmy Lloyd Cunningham, 83, a McMinnville resident and Sequatchie County native, was born Feb. 21, 1937 and passed Nov. 9 at his residence following a brief illness.

He was the owner of Jim’s Locksmith, a United States Air Force veteran of Korea, a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ, and the son of the late James and Rebecca Thompson Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, J.W. and Jerry Cunningham, and sister Tommie Daniels.

Mr. Cunningham was married April 1, 1961 to Iva Jean Tenpenny Cunningham of McMinnville. He is also survived by two daughters, Pamela and Tommy Turner, and Melissa and Jamie Brock, both of McMinnville, three grandsons, Philip and Brooke Brock of Bartlett, TN, Jamison Brock, and Nathanael Turner, both of McMinnville, two sisters, Betty Scott of McMinnville and Dorothy McMahon of Kingston Springs, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County with Larry Acuff officiating. Friends are to meet at the cemetery. Visitation will be held at the cemetery following the graveside service. Military grave rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 173 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boyd Christian School, c/o High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
