McMinnville resident and Warren County native Jimmy Dee Jones, 52, was born Nov. 27, 1961 and died suddenly Aug. 27.
The son of Charles Jones of McMinnville and the late Mildred “Mickey” Jones, he was a self-employed auto mechanic and attended Irving College Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brother, Sutton Jones.
He was married Dec. 31, 1994 to Earlene Smartt Jones of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Bethany Afton and Bryan Beets of Prattville, Ala.; six grandchildren, Gus Beets, Olivia Hall, Shane Cook, Hallie Cook, Ethan Beets and Maggie Cook; four step-children, Shannon Cook and husband Hal of Cookeville, and Japheth Wilson, Brooke Wanamaker and Ben Wanamaker, all of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Wayne Baker of McMinnville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Jon Kent officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s.
