Mr. Jimmie Wayne Walker, 81, of McMinnville passed from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at his residence in McMinnville.

Jimmie was born Monday, July 29, 1940, in McMinnville. He was the son of the late Lloyd Walker, and the late Lela Watson Walker. He was the husband of Ruth Womack Walker.

He was a truck driver for Swann Drugs for 20 years and was a member of Smartt church of Christ in Smartt Station.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Womack Walker, of McMinnville, Barbara Walker Weller and husband, Mark, of McMinnville, Richard Walker and wife, Julie, of Pensacola, Fla., Paul Walker and wife, Sarah, of Morrison, two brothers, Richard Walker and wife, Ann, of Beach Grove, TN, Kenneth Walker and wife, Lillian, of McMinnville. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive, along with nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Walker and Lela Watson Walker, one son, Jimmie Walker Jr., and one brother James Lloyd Walker.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 5201 Manchester Hwy., Smartt, Tenn., 37378. Interment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery officiated by Steve Hillis. The family will receive friends Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home in McMinnville. Online condolences may be made at gardensofmemoryfuneralhome.com.
