Jim Cantrell, 75

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Jim Cantrell, 75, was born March 21, 1942 and died Feb. 27, at his residence following a sudden illness.

A self-employed drywall construction worker, a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, and a member of Blues Hill Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Charlie Henderson and Lula Marine Hill Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Charles Cantrell; and four sisters, Oral Lee Cantrell, Pearline Newby, Wilma Holmes and Linda Glenn.

He was married Nov. 22, 1962 to Brenda Scott Cantrell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Tammy Dunn of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Amanda and Dakota Dunn, both of McMinnville; three sisters, Helen Burnett, Evelyn Travis and Thelma Sullens, all of McMinnville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
