Jewell Brown Warren, 92, a McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native, was born Oct. 21, 1926 and passed away Nov. 23, in McMinnville following a brief illness.


He was a retired employee of McMinnville Electric System, member of Madison Street Baptist Church, and son of the late Jess and Louella Young Warren.


Mr. Warren was married July 19, 1952 to Hallie Slaughter Warren, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Douglas B. and Elaine Warren of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Austin of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Jason Austin of McMinnville, Krista Kent of Lake City, Fla., John Austin of McMinnville, Brett Warren of New York, N.Y., and Nicole Pearson of McMinnville; and five great-grandchildren, Merci Kent, Luke Austin, Mason Pearson, Karis Kent and Beckett Pearson.


Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at High’s Chapel with Harlen Simmons and Carl Smith to officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 p.m. Sunday until the time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
