Morrison resident and Huntsville, Ala., native Jerry Lee Porter, 65, was born March 14, 1946 and died Sept. 20 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.An employee of Myers Cove Nursery and member of the Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Jesse Lee and Elah Novella Webster Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Nathan Porter and Richard Dwight Porter. He is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Johnnie and Audie Wellman of Morrison, Jo Whiteaker and Susie and Ronnie Fowler, all of McMinnville, and Faye and Brian Bonner of McCalla, Ala.; three brothers and sister-in-law, Terry Porter and Donnie Porter, both of Morrison, and Roger and Ann Porter of Manchester, and a host of nieces and nephews.A graveside service was held Thursday at Shady Grove Cemetery in Coffee County with Franklin Harrell officiating.
