Jerry Holland “Moe” Certain, 68, of Rock Island died Tuesday, March 19 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 13, 1944 in Lenoir City and was a former employee of Century Electric, Otasco, and Underwood True Value Hardware, and was a member of McMinnville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Certain was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Elsie Underwood Certain; and a sister, Judy Gail Certain.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy McMillen and Dean; sons, Jerry Lee Certain and Kym, and Charlie Joe (Indy) Certain; sisters and brothers-in-law Faye and Fred Arnold and Cathy and Billy W. Roberts; 12 grandchildren including Natalie Davenport, Tiffany Hobbs, Zackory (Chelsea) Hobbs, J.D. (Elizabeth) Certain, Steven (Brelle) McCormick, Ashley Lawson, Cole Rust, Kane Certain, Jonathan Certain, Elijah Certain, Brittany Larke, and Danielle Larke; six great-grandchildren including Naomi and Isaac Jones, Teagan McCormick, Kylie Barber, And Anthony and Austin Larke, and many nieces, nephews, family members.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Curley Corbin, Larry Ashford, and Rev. Daryl Alhart will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in DeKalb County. The Certain family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
