Mr. Jerry Donald Jernigan, 72, of Viola died Friday, March 25 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1939, in Coffee County, was a retired deliveryman with Colonial Bakery, a farmer, and member of McMinnville First Baptist Church. Mr. Jernigan was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey Lee and Pauline Parker Jernigan and his sons Jerry Daniel and Gary Kevin “Woody” Jernigan.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Mary McClain Jernigan of Viola, son and daughter-in-law Terry Edward and Tanya Jernigan of Kalispell, Mont., brother and sister-in-law Norman and Louise Jernigan of McMinnville.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John May and Rev. Tommy Dye will officiate. Interment will follow at Morrison Cemetery. The Jernigan family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 8 p.m., and again Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
