Jean Haston Gilley, 92, a Warren County resident and native, was born Dec. 3, 1926 and passed away March 21 at NHC of McMinnville following an extended illness.

She was a legal secretary for Camp & Roney Law Offices and a former employee of Genesco. She was a member of McMinnville First Baptist Church where she was the youth leader, assistant librarian and a member of the Reflectors Senior Group. She was treasurer of the Warren County Chapter of the American Red Cross, an active member of the McMinnville Legal Secretaries and former member of the Business & Professional Women. Mrs. Gilley and husband Bill Gilley directed Red Cross swimming lessons for 30 years, and Gilley Pool was named in their honor upon opening in 2003. Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her parents, Rector L. and Violet Hitchcock Haston; husband Bill Gilley; brother Thurman Haston; sisters Josephine Powers and Kathleen McGiboney; niece Janice M. Howard; and nephews Don Powers and Howard Powers.

Mrs. Gilley is survived by nieces, Barbara and Charles Reynolds, Gail M. Askew, Diane and Felix Mullican, Joyce Reed and Lynn Knight, all of McMinnville; nephews Larry and Gloria Powers, Vernon and Mia-Lan Powers, Rickey and Debbie Powers, and Jeff and Jackie Powers, all of McMinnville, and Clayton and Diane Powers of Dunlap, niece-in-laws, Betty Powers and Jo Powers Rowland, both of McMinnville.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, at McMinnville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at McMinnville First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McMinnville First Baptist Church Library.
