McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.C. McDowell, 71, died June 3 at Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro.A Carrier employee and a member of the Church of Christ, he served his country in the U.S. Army.The son of the late James Cecil McDowell Sr. and Ann Mae Anderson; and was preceded in death by sister, Linda Ann McDowell; and brother-in-law, Gerald Couch.He is survived his wife Linda Sue Couch McDowell; sister and brother-in-law, Janette and Gerald McBride of Muncie, Ind.; nieces and nephews, Leigh (Missi) McBride of Indiana, Cecilia and Rusty Norman of Modoc, Ind.; great-nieces and nephews, Noah McBride, J.C. Norman, Nick Norman, Kaleigh Norman and Payne McBride; brother-in-law, Willard (Buddy) Couch of McMinnville, Joe Couch and wife Janie of Clarksville; sister-in-law, Peggy Couch of McMinnville; nephews, Mark Couch of Murfreesboro and Tommy Couch of Clarksville; nieces, Selena Higgins of McMinnville and Angela Bauer of Clarksville; and great-nephew, Dustin Couch of McMinnville.Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at High’s Chapel with Titus Ward and Willie Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery.
