McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.C. Clemons, 78, died Sept. 6 at his home after an extended illness.A retired deputy with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and a member of West Riverside Church of Christ, he served his county in the U.S. Army. The son of the late Thomas Lee and Nettie Mae Hobbs Clemons, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Myrtle Rhea Clemons; daughter, Sandra Renee Clemons; son, Ronnie Eugene Clemons; and brother and sister-in-law, Lannie and Katherine Clemons.He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Phillip Terry and Carolyn Clemons of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Gail and Ronnie Hamilton of McMinnville; granddaughter, Hayle Clemons of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Avie Clemons of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Mertie Clemons of McMinnville; and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Billy Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
