James Walter Martin Jr., formerly of McMinnville, died July 17 in Wichita, Kan., after an extended illness.
He was born March 26, 1937 in Louisville, Ky. He moved to McMinnville when he was a small boy. He graduated from Warren County High School in 1954. He spent six years in the U.S. Army and then started working in Wichita where he remained the rest of his life. He was a member of Emporia Church of Christ there.
He was the son of the late Walter and Sybil Martin and was preceded in death by sister Wilma Jean Ward.
He is survived by his wife Faith Copeland Martin of Wichita; sons, Bud Issac and Robert D. Martin of Wichita; one granddaughter, sisters, Winona Ward and Juanita Oliver, both of McMinnville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Isaac and Mable Copeland of Wichita; and several nieces and nephews in the McMinnville area.
Funeral arrangements were handled in Wichita.
