Mr. James Tollerson, 71, of Murfreesboro passed away Tuesday, March 13.
He was born in Gainesville, Fla., to the late James Charles Sr. and Iliene Bridges Tollerson. Mr. Tollerson was a diehard Republican and staunch constitutionalist. He was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in McMinnville. Mr. Tollerson proudly served his country in the United States Army before becoming an R.N. He worked at the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro for over 30 years. Mr. Tollerson was an environmentalist and loved the outdoors, hiking and fishing. He enjoyed all kinds of music.
Mr. Tollerson is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carol Tollerson; daughters Larissa Smith, Danielle Smith and her husband Don, Kristin Nugent, and Melissa Smith and her husband Jerry; stepdaughters, Debra Galligani and her husband Ross and Jessica Galligani; stepson, Anthony Galligani; brothers, Thom Tollerson and David Tollerson; sister, Kathy Tollerson; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was a loving father and good friend to all.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in McMinnville at later date. An online guestbook is available for the family at www.woodfinchapel.com.
