James Thomas Farmer, 66, of McMinnville died Sunday, March 8 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.He was born Thursday, Nov. 18, 1948 in McMinnville and was the son of the late William Franklin Farmer and Wilma Edith Watson Farmer. He is a retired painter, he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid reader.He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Sissy) White Farmer of McMinnville; son Brian Farmer and wife Tera of McMinnville; two stepsons, Charles Edward White and Jerry Lee White, both of McMinnville; two brothers; Larry Farmer and wife, Nancy of Hilham, Ron Farmer and wife, Linda of McMinnville; four grandchildren, Drake Rain Farmer, Eric James Farmer, Connor Owen Farmer and J.T., all of McMinnville; two step-grandchildren, Alissa May White and Johnathan Lee White of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren; niece Shannon Farmer Teeters of Morrison; nephew, Shane Farmer of Georgia The family wishes it to be known there will be no funeral services per Tommy’s request.
