James Hiram Basham, 87, died Jan. 9 at his home in Woodbury. He was a native of Warren County and a member of the Church of Christ, a farmer and a mechanic.He is survived by his children, Mary Spry of Bradyville, Carolyn Whitfield of Readyville, Linda (Jerry) Vance of Nashville, Betty E. (Melvin) Smith of Woodbury, Connie (Mike) Lane of Auburntown, and Angie Basham of Woodbury; grandchildren, Rex Spry, Melissa Powell, James Carl Mears, Lori Cross, Jacob Bryson, Joshua Bryson, Brandi Sissom and Emily Sissom; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild Mr. Basham was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton Hiram and Myra Rogers Basham; his wife, Clara Mae Parker Basham; sons-in-law, Carl Mears, Lloyd Whitfield and Jerry Spry; granddaughter, Lisa Spry; three brothers, Ray, Claude and Clyde Basham, and two sisters, Sylvia Smithson and Mary Wiley Nippa.Funeral service was held Saturday at Woodbury Funeral Home with Jerry Gilley officiating.
