McMinnville resident and Sand Mountain, Ala., native James E. Totherow Sr., 87, died Oct. 9 at River Park Hospital after a brief illness.A CPA with Totherow, Haile and Welch and a member of First Baptist Church, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the amphibious forces. He was a practicing CPA for over 50 years and a founding partner of Totherow, Haile and Welch. Along with his wife Ophelia, he was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church.
