Mr. James Dozier Hale, 85, and longtime resident of McMinnville, died Saturday, Dec. 15, at his residence. 

He was born July 13, 1933, in Nashville, was a former employee of Bi Lo Grocery Store and served his country with the U.S. Army. Mr. Hale was preceded in death by parents Ben Wood and Ruby Morris Hale, wife Pauline Hale, and sisters Doris Lance and Marie McBride.

Survivors include his son James Douglas Hale, many cousins, family members, and friends.

A prayer service will be conducted at the flag pole on the grounds of McMinnville Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4. Bro. Ricky Arnold will officiate. Military grave rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Inurnment will follow at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN  37221.
