Morrison resident and Warren County native Jake Solomon, 82, was born Sept. 2, 1932 and died May 13 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville.
Retired from Harold Laws Construction Company and a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, he was the son of the late Sherman and Sadie Starkey Solomon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Katherine Solomon and Joelene Solomon; and three brothers, Elzie B. Solomon, Roy Solomon and Troy Solomon.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherman and Dorothy Solomon, and Harold and Magnolia Solomon, all of McMinnville; three sisters-in-law, Rosie Solomon of Murfreesboro, Joyce Solomon of McMinnville and Shirley Solomon of Manchester; seven nieces, Fay Bowers of Murfreesboro, Trina Gill of Shelbyville, and Annette McReynolds, Sylvia Solomon, Vivian Solomon, Melissa Solomon and Teresa Martin, all of McMinnville; six nephews, Kenny Solomon and Joe Solomon both of McMinnville, Eric Solomon and Rickey Solomon, both of Nashville, Randy Solomon of Macon, Ga., and Harold Alexander Solomon of Memphis; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 17 in High’s Chapel with George King officiating. Burial will follow at Old Philadelphia Cemetery at Vervilla. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
