Jack Foster Melton, 93, a McMinnville resident and Rock Island native, died Sept. 27 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. He was a self-employed appliance repairman, veteran of the United States Navy during World War II and son of the late George and Bertha Foster Melton. Mr. Melton was married to Taskah Madewell Melton, who preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 1998.
