Jack Clayton Smedley, 86, a McMinnville resident and Grundy County native, was born Jan. 17, 1930 and died Jan. 11 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. He was a devoted Christian, loving husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed playing country music and spending time with friends. Mr. Smedley was a veteran of the United States Army, an entrepreneur, member of Arlington Church of Christ and son of the late George Washington and Betty Hazel Morgan Smedley.
