McMinnville resident and Warren County native Hubert Turner, 87, died Oct. 6 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital after an extended illness.A nurseryman and retired owner of Turner’s Bend Nursey and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Jesse and Ester Lee Green Turner and was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law Gail and Gary Dodson; son-in-law Phillip Martin; daughter-in-law Karon Layne; grandson Shane Alan Dodson; siblings, Nolan Turner; Evelyn Turner, Pete Turner, Herbert Turner and Ernestine Cunningham.He is survived children and their spouses, Diane and Harry Grissom, Evelyn Martin, and Herbert (Bud) Turner, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Shawn and LeAnne Grissom, Jeremie and Lori Turner, Kelly Dodson, Kristy and Ronald Clendenon, Shayna and Randall Green, Karissa and Mark Hale, Amber Dodson and Donnie Fults, Dustin and Brandi Martin and Josh Smith; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Boyd of McMinnville; special friend Sharon Patrick of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews.Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at High’s Chapel with burial following at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High’s.
