McMinnville resident and Hamilton County native Homer “Bud” Lee Sharp, 54, was born Dec. 28, 1967 and died March 17 at Hospice of Chattanooga in Chattanooga following a sudden illness.

A Gulf War veteran of the United States Marine Corp, member of the Warren County Bar Association, an attorney and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Roger Dale and Carolyn Sue Shields Sharp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Arthur Waterman and Nancy Claire Dollins Shields and paternal grandparents, Claude and Elizabeth Sharp.

Mr. Sharp is survived by two sisters, Susan (Michael) Bell of McMinnville, and Cindy (Chuck) Hill of Smithville, two uncles, Jim (Brenda) Shields of Smithville, and Tommy Sharp of Chattanooga, two aunts Debbie (Bill) Jennings and Linda Sharp McBride, both of McMinnville, half-sister, Jessie Durr of McMinnville, nieces and nephews, Kara Campbell, Allison Campbell, Hannah Hill and Harlan Hill, two great-nieces and one great-nephew, numerous cousins and girlfriend Chelsea Bratcher of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, March 21, at High’s Chapel with Jackie Matheny officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
