McMinnville resident and White County native Homer Abb Hicks, 69, was born Aug. 8, 1942 and died Jan. 15 at his daughter’s residence in Douglasville, Ga., following an extended illness. A retired maintenance supervisor with the city of Atlanta, Ga., a United States Army veteran of Korea, and member of McMinnville Independent Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Willie and Hannah Pearl Cutts Hicks. He was married to Martha Clydena Lathem Hicks, who preceded him in death Sept. 23, 2006.
