McMinnville resident and Warren County native Herbert Eugene “Gene” Pickett, 83, was born December 28, 1932 and died July 24 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Powermatic and member of Spring Creek Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Vernon and Lassie Taylor Pickett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Barrett and Emalene Keener and brother, Edward Lee Pickett.
