Smithville resident and DeKalb County native Helen Ruth Webb, 84, was born Feb. 8, 1928 and died March 22 at River Park Hospital. A homemaker and member of Whorton Springs Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Claudia Alice Cantrell Pirtle Sr. She was married to Willie Eudeen Webb, who preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1995. She is survived by two children, Angela Wright of Phoenix, Ariz., and son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Anita Webb of Lansing, Mich.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Cox, Aaron Wright and Brandon and Shenyah Webb; two step-grandchildren, Vincent and Michelle Melton; three great-grandchildren, Heath and Hayden Wright and Zenikaya Webb; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Charles Roberts of McMinnville, and Janice and Garry Bryant of Bone Cave; brother, Lonnie Pirtle Jr., of Morrison; sister-in-law, Joyce Pirtle of McMinnville, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
