DeKalb County native Helen R. Markum, 67, died Jan. 24 in Dawson Springs, Ky.An employee of Oster for 27 years and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Loring Kirby and Nadell Reed Laymen, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Markum; and brothers, James Edward Kirby and Ray Don Kirby.She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Tony Estes of Caldwell County, Ky.; son and daughter-in-law, David “Led” and Gina Markum of Woodbury; grandchildren, Evelyn Estes of Clarksville, Andrew Bullock and Taylor Bullock of Woodbury, Levi and Luke Estes of Kentucky; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sue Kirby of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Violet Jo and Chuck Turner of McMinnville.Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Wood Cemetery.
