McMinnville resident and Dover, N.J., native Helen Louise Jones, 72, was born June 14, 1946 and died June 24 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a sudden illness.

A retired office manager with Total Orthotic & Prosthetic Systems and a member of First Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Ravanell McGuire Lakatos.

She is survived by three children and spouses, Michele McNear and Jonathan Gobbell of Hermitage, Kristine McNear and Barry Tanner of McMinnville, and Michael Jones of McMinnville; sister Ruth Kell of McMinnville; six grandchildren, Kody Tanner, Tinzlee Tanner, Elizabeth Gobbell, Casey Jones, Drew Jones and Micah Elledge; and two nieces, Tennille Kell Davenport and Amber Kell Prater.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at High’s Chapel with Harry Green officiating. Inurnment will follow at Whorton Springs Cemetery in DeKalb County.
