McMinnville resident and Warren County native Harold Brown Mayfield, 85, died July 5 at his residence after a short illness.A retired employee of Hardaway Construction, a member of Mt. Leo Church of Christ, VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was the son of the late Waymon and Eva Higginbotham Mayfield; and was preceded in death by daughter, Gloria Jean McClain and brother, T.F. “Buck” Mayfield.He is survived by daughters, Beverly Mayfield of Virginia Beach, Pamela Traynor of Des Plaines, Ill., and Sharon Troccoli of Centerville, Iowa; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Frank and Joyce Mayfield, and Waymon Mayfield, all of McMinnville; sisters, Alma Haley of Denton, Texas and Bobbie Langley of Nashville; several nieces, nephews, family members and friends and special friend, Arlene Gross of McMinnville.Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at High’s Chapel with Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery.
