Guy Thomas Passmore, 66, of McMinnville died Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Raintree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville.He was born Dec. 31, 1944, in Macon County, N.C., and was a former contract trailer switcher at Carrier and retired from Shaw Carpet, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Passmore was a graduate of Nantahala High School where he was a Second Team All-American basketball standout, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was preceded in death by his parents Burgin and Frances McMahan Passmore.Survivors include son, Guy Fate Passmore and wife Aidene of Stuart, Fla.; grandson, Ethan Passmore; sister Glenda Postell and husband Jack of Andrews, N.C., and brothers Bobby Queen and wife Iva Dean of Andrews, N.C., Larry Queen and wife Barbara of Dallas, Ga., Golman Passmore of Lexington, N.C., and R.L. Passmore and wife Mary of Whittier, N.C.Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Mickey Stewart and Marlon Blaylock will officiate.
