Columbus, Ohio resident and Warren County native Guy Robert Moffitt Jr., 93, was born Sept. 3, 1920 and died Feb. 12.Retired from the Aeronautics and Information Systems, a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Guy Robert and Eva McCrory Haas Moffitt Sr. He was married to Olivene Barnes Moffitt, who preceded him in death Sept. 30, 2004. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Carol Pate; son, Gary R. Moffitt III; a baby son and daughter; siblings, Boyce and Phillip Moffitt and Louella Mosley; and brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lowell Barnes, Edna Brady and Earlene Doak.He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Susan Moffitt of Groveport, Ohio and Cheryl and Greg Finnegan of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Meagan, Tom and Sam Finnegan of Minnesota, Gretel Adams of Columbus, Ohio, Wendy Raphael of Hawaii and Brian and Rob Pate; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in High’s Chapel with Chris Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
