George Harris ThaxtonGeorge Harris Thaxton, of Charleston, S.C., beloved husband of Ginny Driver Thaxton, died peacefully Monday, Sept. 3 at his residence.He was born in McMinnville, the son of the late Thomas Benjamin Thaxton and Emma Frances Comer Thaxton. He was a chemical engineer with a BS degree from Auburn University and a graduate degree from the University of Florida. Early on, Mr. Thaxton was a scholar and inventor, having two patents while working with Monsanto Corporation.
