Morrison resident and Warren County native George “David” Reed, Jr., 61, was born June 23, 1962 and died Feb. 14, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.           

Mr. Reed was retired from the McMinnville Sanitation Department with thirty plus years of service and was a convenience center site operator with the Warren County Sanitation Department in Morrison. He was a Tennessee Army National Guard veteran, member of Browntown Church of Christ and the son of the late George David and Dorothy Mae Tenpenny Reed, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben Clifton and Dorthy Jane Davis Grissom, Jr. and sister-in-law, Melissa Mullins. 

He was married to Sharon Reed of Morrison on Sept. 25, 1982. In addition to his wife, Mr. Reed is survived by children, Betsy Reed White and George David Reed, III. (Candida Cook), both of Morrison; grandchildren, Ryan Benjamin White and Rhettlee Andrew Burdick; brothers, Roger (Sharon) Reed and Bryan "Rusty" (Sharon) Reed, both of Morrison; brother-in-law, Marty Mullins; sister-in-law, Dawn Myers and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 in High’s Chapel with Bro. Eugene Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
