Mr. Gayle Cripps was born July 20, 1949 and departed this life Oct. 26 at his daughter’s residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a Baptist and owned and operated his company, Cripps Construction for many years. He served two tours of duty with U.S. Navy in Vietnam, he was also a member of the carpenters union and a former member of VFW. Gayle was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace, Rosa Mai Scott Vickers and Troy Sr, Myrtle Mai Jones Cripps and his parents, Javin Brown, Rosa Ray Vickers Cripps. He is survived by his children, Davanda Cripps (Jimmy) Craighead and Javin (Melanie) Cripps, his grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, Makayla and Chase Craighead, Addie, Anna and Charli Mai Cripps. He is also survived by brothers Alfred (Shirley) Cripps, Jason (Renee) Cripps, Jeff (Teresa) Cripps, Tim Rigsby, Ronnie Rigsby and sister Angie (Randy) Snow and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday from 12 p.m. noon till service time. A celebration of life service will be held in the Anderson Funeral Home chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. with interment following at Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage. Pallbearers will be, Javin Cripps, Jacob Craighead, Jimmy Craighead, Chase Craighead, Alfred Cripps, Jason Cripps and Jeff Cripps.
