McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gary Wayne Terry, 66, was born July 8, 1948 and died Nov. 16 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
A pipefitter, a United States Army veteran of Vietnam, having served two years as a Green Beret, and a member of the Methodist Church, he was the son of Don Terry of McMinnville and the late Maxine Young Terry. In addition to his father, he is survived by stepmother, Frankie Terry of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Staphana and Billy Gay of McMinnville; niece, Brittany Wilhoite and husband Bobby of Shelbyville; nephew, Travis Gay of Nashville; two great-nieces, Madison and Katie Wilhoite; and stepsister, Donna Casey Davis of Corpus Christie, Texas.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Lorin Pedigo officiating. Military grave rites will be administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at High’s.
