Gary Wayne Panter, 78

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gary Wayne Panter died Feb. 2, 2024 at River Park Hospital of a two-month illness. Born on Dec. 29, 1945, he was a member of the Church of Christ and a Mason. He worked many years at Century Electric and worked as a nurseryman and owner of Spring Creek Nursery. He was preceded in death by his wife Christine Rubley Panter on April 12, 2021; they married on Feb. 12, 1966. He was the son of the late Lorn and Alma Bouldin Panter. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brother Bobby Panter and sister Joyce Panter Hillis.

He is survived by one son, Todd Panter of McMinnville; three brothers-in-law, Ernest (Dean) Rubley, James Rubley and John Hillis, all of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends of the Hills Creek Community.

Graveside service and interment wass scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek. Ronnie Powell officiated. The family received friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. before leaving for the cemetery.
