McMinnville resident and Warren County native Gary Douglas Campbell, 72, was born Oct. 18, 1946 and died Nov. 19 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a sudden illness.

A nurseryman and a member of Northcutt Cove Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Marvin Gene and Allie Pauline Woodlee Campbell. He was married Aug. 3, 1973 to Sharon Diane Smartt Campbell, who preceded him in death Dec. 12, 2006. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by son Kyle Douglas Campbell; and brother Perry Campbell.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Melody and John Curtis of McMinnville; granddaughter Natalie Faith Lovell of McMinnville; brother and sister-in-law Presley and Renee Campbell of Alabama; nephew Bert Campbell of Illinois; great-niece Sara Campbell of Illinois; and several cousins.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at High’s Chapel with Ray Winton and Tim Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Northcutt Cove Cemetery in Grundy County.
