Mrs. Frances W. Lee, 88, of Waycross, Ga., died Friday afternoon at Baptist Village Retirement Communities.
She was born in McMinnville to the late John Tubb Warren and Leila Jones Warren. She was a graduate of Warren County High School. Mrs. Lee moved to Waycross in 1946, where she worked as vice president of personnel and operations for First National Bank of Waycross. She retired in 1987 from First National Bank of Waycross after 40 years of service. During her time in banking, Mrs. Lee was an active member of the National Association of Bank Women. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Tebeau Street where she taught Children’s Sunday School and Ladies Bible Study. Mrs. Lee continued leading Bible study throughout her life, most recently with her caregivers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Futrell Holland “Shine” Lee and three brothers, Edward Warren, Clarence Warren, and David Warren.
Mrs. Lee is survived by two sons, Dennis D. Lee and his wife Sara of Sherrills Ford, N.C., Douglas M. Lee and his wife Holly of Waycross, Ga., five grandchildren, Amy Lee Byrd and her husband Christian of Stanley, N.C., Jake Lee and his wife Anna Lisa of Matthews, N.C., Matt Lee and his wife Amy of Wintersville, Ga., Lauren Lee Tripp and her husband Jake of Cartersville, Ga., Zachary Lee of Waycross, Ga., four great-grandchildren, Ashton Byrd, Weston Byrd, Reeves Byrd, Copeland Byrd, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
