Frances Marie Arnold, 98, of McMinnville died Nov. 16. Born in 1917 and raised in the San Francisco Bay area, she and her late husband lived and raised their family of four children for many years in their native California. While a young wife and mother, Frances was part of the “Rosie the Riveter” wave of patriots during World War II, serving as a fire patrol marshal in the Oakland, Calif., shipyards building the “Liberty” troop transport ships that were vital to the war effort.She was married to the love of her life, Wesley M. Arnold for over 63 years before his passing in 2004 at age 90.
