Everett “Sonny” Shelton Osment, 83, of McMinnville died Monday, Jan. 12 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
He was born Jan. 20, 1931 in Warren County and was a retired machinist with DeZurik Corp., and a member of Locust Street Church of God. Mr. Osment was preceded in death by parents, Ernest John and Jennie Adeline Barrett Osment; wife, Sarah Ella Mason Osment; son, James Everett Osment; sister, Grace Lee Neal; and brothers, William “Bud” Osment and Clifton Osment.
Survivors include daughters, Patricia Osment Olson and Lacricia (Derek) Marten; sister, Macon Rains; brothers, Nelson (Mary) Osment and Wayne Osment; grandchildren, Brandon James (Jessica) Sweeten, O.J. (Missy) Febus, Amanda Marten, Allie Marten, and Chad Everett (Janie) Osment, and great-grandchildren Destani, Keely, Aiden, and Canyon Sweeten and Terry Everett Osment.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jeff Page will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. The Osment family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m., and again Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
