Everett Hugh Rutledge, 73

Eufaula, Ala., resident and Warren County native Everett Hugh Rutledge, 73, was born Feb. 3, 1939 and passed away peacefully at his home in Eufaula on Oct. 3 following an extended illness.  
A retired employee of Mead Paper Company and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James Newton and Mattie Lou Rogers Rutledge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Rutledge and sister, Thelma Breedlove. 
He was married to Carol Robinson Rutledge of Eufaula. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Rhonda Rutledge and Tony Foster and Chad and Stephanie Rutledge both of McMinnville, and Lafonda Rutledge and Mark Rudd of Murfreesboro; stepdaughter, Felicia L. Smith of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, Chelsea King and (Mikey Allred), Maegan Rudd and (Greg Snyder), Tyler Rudd, Kailea King, Nolyn Rutledge, Kalle Rutledge, Delicia Raqual and Michael Brooks; step-grandchild, Nick Foster;  two sisters, Emogene Rutledge Magness of McMinnville and Betty Rutledge Grissom of Pulaski; sister-in-law, Charity Rutledge of Campaign; several nieces, nephews and friends in McMinnville and Eufaula. 
A graveside service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Cemetery with Steve Breedlove officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, Ala., 36303.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
